How Did Jason Momoa Get His Scar? The Injury That Helped the Actor Get His Game of Thrones Rol

Jason Momoa is a household name, known for his muscular build combined with a soft heart. However, the actor got his signature scar due to his involvement in a bar fight.

The DC Films head Walter Hamada's deposition was recently provided in court for the media-ravaged Johnny Deppy vs. Amber Heard defamation case.

During his testimony, he revealed that some people working on the "Aquaman" film, also featuring Momoa, were worried about Heard's role as Mera.

More specifically, they were anxious about the absence of chemistry between Momoa, who plays Aquaman, and Amber Heard. The DC Head stated:

"It's like what makes a movie star a movie star. You know it when you see it. And the chemistry wasn't there."

He said that the post-production team could create a sense of chemistry through different techniques. But, this could not make up for the natural phenomenon.

Momoa, the lead in the film, is an acclaimed actor. His breakout role was the chieftain of the Dothraki Khalasar "Khal Drogo" in the"Game of Thrones" series.

Beyond his on-camera skills, he can also be remembered for his striking appearance. It includes a memorable facial scar on one of his eyebrows.

WHEN DID JASON MOMOA GET HIS BROW SCAR?

This scar resulted from 21-year-old Dominic Bando, who allegedly fought with the actor on November 15, 2008. He purportedly hit Momoa with a beer glass, which broke into pieces, leaving a permanent scar on the actor's face. Momoa recollected:

"It was crazy. A guy smashed a pint glass in my face. I got a little over 140 stitches in my face. It helped get those mean roles. [sic]"

He suspects that the attack was part of a gang initiation. The alleged individual was arrested and possibly faced seven years behind bars. Bando walked away with 15 stitches, while Momoa had to get 140.

The actor spoke about the fact that he got the scar after he began seeing his then-wife Lisa Bonet. The talented actor facetiously stated:

"If she doesn't like it, too bad. She likes it."

His 6'5" Hawaiian frame, and the fact that he was screaming while doing the Haka in front of one of the casting directors for his "Game of Thrones" audition, certainly added to him getting the role of Khal Drogo. But the "Aquaman" star believes that the scar did give him an extra edge, helping him seal the deal.

WHY DID JASON MOMOA AND LISA BONET SPLIT?

While Bonet did, in fact, like Momoa's scar, they separated in 2022. In a now-deleted Instagram post announcing their divorce, where the actor expressed:

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding, and our family is no exception."

While the old "Road to Paloma" co-stars are going their separate ways, their intention, as they said, is to make the kids their focal point.
